Chief Building Services Technician

The role of the Building Services Technician, Heating & Ventilation:
Responsible for maintenance of the heating and ventilation systems, enabling the fabric, fixtures and fittings of the building to support the effective operation and objectives of the Department. To enable sufficient cover when the Museum is open, this job operates on a five days out of seven (Monday ¿ Sunday) variable contract. Duties include:
Diagnosing and carrying out first line repairs to mechanical engineering plant and equipment, carry out preventative maintenance on the plant, daily check on control panels, pumps, extract fans etc. and check the department's air handling units throughout the building.
Establishing systems to plan routine inspections e.g. water treatment, heating, air conditioning and ventilation etc.
Carry out major and minor works and installations either by self or contractors, while ensuring the relevant authorisation.
We are looking for someone with experience of working in building/maintenance services including practical experience of the installation of plumbing, ventilation and other services.
