Head of Digital Content
As the principal museum of the University of Cambridge and the largest cultural venue in the region, The Fitzwilliam Museum acts as a crucial bridge between the University, the City and the rest of the world, and has an international reputation for extraordinary research, world class exhibitions, award-winning public programmes and significant collections spanning many cultures and centuries. The Hamilton Kerr Institute (HKI) is one of the world's leading centres for teaching and research in conservation and heritage science.
To help us achieve the Fitzwilliam Museum's digital ambitions, we are seeking a visionary leader to establish, direct and manage the strategic and long-term goals for our digital content, ensuring it brings value to our audiences and our organisation. The Head of Digital Content will play a pivotal role in shaping and leading a new digital content team, and in working with colleagues across the Museum to embed digital thinking, practice and experiences.
With a passion for storytelling and excellent project management skills, the role holder will direct the strategy for the Museum's digital platforms, oversee all digital content from concept to delivery, develop and own the Museum's tone of voice across its digital platforms, and promote best practice in content production.
Collaborating with colleagues from across the Museum, the University and with external delivery partners, the Head of Digital Content will also support the development of inspiring and enriching digital experiences and products for our exhibitions and programmes to bring our collections, research and stories to life. You will join us at an exciting time for the Fitzwilliam as we prepare to enter one of the most important phases in our long history: the Museum Masterplan. This landmark project will reinvigorate our spaces, connect with audiences onsite and digitally as never before, and revolutionise the ways our collections, research and programmes are experienced. An organisation-wide rebrand, including a website redevelopment project, will be a major delivery strand during this period of transformation.
We offer an encouraging and supportive environment, an attractive pension scheme and many employee benefits such as a shopping discounts scheme.
