As the principal museum of the University of Cambridge and the largest cultural venue in the region, The Fitzwilliam Museum acts as a crucial bridge between the University, the City and the rest of the world, and has an international reputation for extraordinary research, world class exhibitions, award-winning learning and public programmes and amazing collections spanning many cultures and centuries. The Museum's conservation centre, the Hamilton Kerr Institute (HKI), is one of the world's leading centres for teaching and research in conservation.

As Head of Learning and Participation, you will lead the development and implementation of the Fitzwilliam Museum's Learning and Participation strategy, creating and leading learning, participation, health and wellbeing and creative programmes, working with a wide range of partners to maximise our reach and impact, and increasingly evidencing the impact of this work through practice-based research. You will be managing a team of around twenty full and part time learning and inclusion specialists working both at the Fitzwilliam and across the University of Cambridge Museums, plus freelancers and volunteers.

Working with colleagues and partners across the Museum, the University of Cambridge Museums, wider University and the wider community, you will create opportunities for people from our many and diverse communities to participate in and engage with our work, ensuring we are an essential and shared cultural asset for all.

Cambridge is a beautiful city on the River Cam in eastern England, home to the prestigious University of Cambridge, dating back to 1209. The Fitzwilliam Museum is one of eight museums which work in partnership with Cambridge University Botanic Garden and the University Library as the University of Cambridge Museums consortium, with internationally 'Designated' collections spanning archaeology and anthropology, polar exploration, the history of science and zoology and fine art.
