HR Project Manager (Fixed Term - Internal University Candidates only)

The Fitzwilliam Museum was founded in 1816 and opened to the public in 1848. Today, it houses over half a million works of art and antiquities spanning a period of four thousand years and representing most major civilisations of the world. The Museum has an international reputation for excellence in research, exhibitions, learning and public engagement. As well as being the principal museum of the University of Cambridge, the Fitzwilliam is one of the largest cultural providers in the region, welcoming between 350,000 and 450,000 visitors a year, pre-COVID. It is also the lead partner of the University of Cambridge Museums (UCM), the Arts Council National Portfolio Organisation consortium of the University Museums and the Botanic Garden.
The HR Project Manager is a temporary 12-month senior management role within the recently formed Operations Directorate. They will be the project leader for the reorganisation programme to be instigated at the Fitzwilliam Museum as it builds a structure that is integral to the long term success of the Museum and wider University of Cambridge Museum Consortium (UCM).
The successful candidate will be responsible for the planning and delivery of the large change management programme across the Fitzwilliam Museum including, the set up and monitoring the scope and delivery of the change project and ensure it is delivered to schedule and following all legislative and University requirements.
The ideal candidate will be an accomplished HR professional from within the University who has experience gained from the successful delivery or being part of the delivery of successful change programmes within the University or other external organisations. With first class communication, consultation and presentation skills, you will be able to influence at all levels of the organisation in the most challenging of situations. Confidence and the ability to engage with all groups of staff will also prove crucial in this established and well respected institution.
Fixed-term: The funds for this post are available for 12 months in the first instance.
