Ms Molly Stock-Duerdoth

PhD Student

Molly is a Doctoral Researcher at The Fitzwilliam Museum and The University of Leicester. Her study considers the complex, social, and embodied experiences of communities as they develop their relationships with museums over time. She uses participatory museum practice and action research methods to investigate how museums can practically and theoretically prioritise these audiences as partners and collaborators. This research is located in the Learning and Practitioner Research teams at The Fitzwilliam Museum. For her core study, she convened a group of young adults, The Creative Producers, who reflected on and contributed to the display National Treasures: Botticelli in Cambridge.

Molly previously studied at The University of Leicester, where she received an MA in Museum Studies, and The University of Oxford, where she received an MSt in Latin Languages and Literature and a BA in Classics and English. She is currently a Learning Host at Kettle’s Yard and has also worked in learning and participation at The Museum of Cambridge and Glyndebourne opera house.

Molly is supervised by Dr Kate Noble at The Fitzwilliam Museum and Prof Sandra Dudley and Dr Nuala Morse at The University of Leicester.
